as you said this game is an RTS in space so how would you move up and down in space since space technically has no boundaries how would you move your ship down and up? One recommendation of how this can be done is maybe assign 2 keys to adjust the nose of the ship. (ex: K aims the nose down I aims the ship up)
Also another idea if this is how it will work maybe the bigger your ship the longer it takes to aim the nose down? just a thought
