Some people were asking about what protesters do in the game so thought I would make a thread about them.
In most space games you tend to get Pirates or Raiders, so was thinking what would be the enemy of corporations....Protesters!!
They basically spawn from time to time and try and cause havoc to your company by attacking your shipping lanes, your station and generally just an annoyance to keep you on your toes. The more goods you sell, the more protesters you attract. They generally just hate what ever goods your company manufactures.
Protesters also have a second and more important role as a way for players to jump into already running games.
A lot of people in Executive Assault 1 found it hard to find a multiplayer match the join in and play as most games were locked or were hosted and started straight away. This is a problem with most RTS games due to the nature of the game unlike an FPS game where you can just dive in.
So in Executive Assault 2 I will make it so that you simply press "Join as Protester" and it will randomly find a running match which you can join in as a protester and just have some fun causing as much havoc in space as protester earning plenty of badges (the top badge will be if you somehow manage to assassinate a CEO or blow up their space station).
