Faction diplomacy options.
being able to bribe a faction and have them do favors for you.
all players strive to sell goods to gain the support of an allied army.
if you payed the right price, you gain these options below. each one has its own additional payment along with positive or negative outcomes after W/E the option was chosen and paid for.
warning, the following below is very fun to read and suggest.
-------------
Options Available upon meeting requirements:
#1. Assault Enemy controlled Defense Station: Allied Faction warps in targeted sector with enemy defense station. They bring a good size force with decent weapons to get the job done ( or attempt ), also brings a star gate to board your station and self destruct it. they fight till the end. if they win , help from you or not, they warp out .
#2. Assault Enemy Research Station: same as above.
#3. Assault Enemy Mining Outpost: same as above.
#4. Defend Allied Defense Station: they warp in sector. Has a timer as to how long they stay and defend ( use to increase numbers if battle is starting or to buy you time to prepare ). once done they warp out. no boarding parties to help.
#5. Defend Research Station: same as above.
#6. Defend Mining Outpost: same as above.
#7. Attack a sector with enemy presence: basically no boarding parties.. just starships come in and attempt to clean up w/e enemies are in there. they come prepared.
#8. Assault enemy base: they come with the best they can muster, boarding parties.. mechs.. fight till the end.
#9. defend your base: they come with the best they can muster up.. starships only. stay a bit longer than the usual..
-----------------
so from the enemies stand point now, they feel.. defeated maybe... but not all is lost...
protesters can aid the player getting ganged up on.. but only if the player agrees to not make goods, and instead build a relationship with them.. protester aid will come in any immediate threat you deem is important enough.. .
as for the outcomes to winning and loosing with paid factions.. they go as :
#1. a successful attack will result in lower costs for future options, but decrease status slowely.. ( just sell more goods, bribe faction ).
#2. a failed attack will result in higher costs for options, and decrease status faction significantly .. . (afterall, they just lost a fleet and maybe a few good men.. they need money now more than ever, and dont like your judgement )... just means sell more goods .. alot more ..to get back that trust... because if you dont.. and the enemy has protesters for aid.. your outnumbered...in every sector you own.
--------
now the last part
if you dont want protester aid, and want to sell goods but the enemy is beating you on it.. not all is lost..
you can attempt to outpay whatever the enemy has paid...
example: i paid 20k just to get them happy.. i have an option.. you get a diplomatic message telling you what is required to outpay what has been ordered...
what happens is.. now you have the option to counter what he chose.. betrayals or just taking your money and ditching the first payer by not showing up..
Fun way to get more out of factions and protesters
