So, nice changes with the last few patches. Combat is much easier to get into as an executron, and I love being able to upgrade my bot. Portals are really, really cool.
But, there are some bugs right now.
1. Our cargo ship refused to bring ore back from our resource/mining outpost to our main base. We built 2 more (3 total) but they all refused to do anything. The mining base was controlled by us, it was in mining mode (it had stockpiled 19K ore and 6K coolant). Only one of the 3 freighters had anything in it and none were doing anything at all.
2. The enemy Ais broke really quickly. We had an initial rush against us of a few corvettes and 2 cruisers, and then they stopped building anything. When we looked at their station, they would try to build ships, and get them 99% done, but when the ship went to disconnect from the station it would disappear. We saw at least frigates and cruisers (but also maybe a battleship?) get "fakebuilt" this way, and simply disappear. The only ships ever leaving the enemy station at this point were miners.
3. As executrons, the "coolant time" continuously reads "calculating."
4. Bug or intended? The pulse gun tree (I think its called, its the one that leads to torpedoes) fires projectiles so slowly that if you run and fire as an executron, you shoot yourself in the back of the head. Similarly, if you are in a ship with these weapons, you must stop to fire, or your shells appear inside your ship and hit you. In both cases it does enormous damage to yourself.
5. Bug or intended? Torpedoes have no downside and are just the best weapon. The one thing you'd think they'd be bad at - killing fighters - they are actually insanely good at. One torp-torp cruiser will kill any number of station fighters. The fighters usually don't even get a shot off. One hit, one kill.
6. Opinion. I think I see what you are going for with an "executron" section of the station that players have to build, but its so user unfriendly and counter to every multiplayer game I have ever played. Me and my 2 friends loaded, and reloaded, and re-reloaded a multiplayer game trying to figure out how the $%#^ to allow executron play, since every single combination of choices always told us that exectrons were disabled. It was only after digging it out of the forums that we found out that the ceo had to make an exectron builder. Please make it so executrons can just join a lobby with the CEO prior to the game start, and can start the game at the same time as the CEO.
