Make it worth the wait and increases the usefulness.
How?
Well..
When Traders come in with blueprints, they should bring stuff worth getting into it.. mechanoid is great but , late or mid game no one really thinks about these guys. Plus they need fixed at the moment.
But add blueprints for executrons..
new armor , with or without Shields.
Weapons, single hand to two handed.. or duel weapons.

Maybe add blueprints for special executron only ships.
Depending on how many you might want to add and how big they will be will determine how many executrons can pilot / Gunner seat.
For example:
#1. Almost like a star fighter, but with a unique weapon attached.. maybe minigun or railgun.. something starships and other mainline stuff won't have.
#2. Gun boat - requires two executrons. One pilot / other is Gunner.
12 executrons total can join.. so to make things fair from this angle ..
Most executrons to man a vehicle will be 6.
Maybe a unique frigate 1 pilot, 5 man railgun or something special lol.
Powerful ships, can have one unique ship each at a time.
Just trying to have more involvement with the Assembly plant and traders and making goods to purchase...
Right now it's just mining
