Just double click on the name. Theres no visual feedback. Thats why I was confused yesterday, one cruisers name was and I didnt know why  |

Click on unit, see bottom left hand corner for name of unit, just click on it , backspace what's there, add your own.
You can name individual robots as well and mechanoid ..
