Big bug: My CEO just randomly dies!?

As the title says...

So I'll be playing along, happy as a clam, when suddenly, outta nowhere, my CEO keels over and dies. GAME OVER! For no apparent reason? 
I don't know if I'm meant to be feeding him or whatever but he just randomly dies.

The only explanation I can think of (other than it being a massive bug) is that an undetected enemy troops kills him.

I haven't done any experiments with this, but I think the times he has died has been the times my battle station has been boarded by enemy troops. I kill all of them, but maybe there is one troop that is somehow hidden and remains undetected, then removes the laser shields and kills my guy? I don't know. Either way, it's a bug. So please look in to it! Thank you.

There are infestations from time to time. These are essentially unseen as far as notifications go.

I recommend you raise the force field around your command center (hold shift in RTS mode, zoom on, click on the icon in the center, hit the raise force field button) as that ensures enemies can't simply wander in randomly.

I also recommend you close all doors of your docking bay as the infestation spawns in there but is unable to open closed doors.

Seriously though no idea why he would just keel over, was it a multiplayer game? Sometimes a troop transport can dock and kill you or like Raszul said maybe some Infestors, could also have been a random meteor strike or maybe an ion storm?

This also occurs when the CEO loses connection to the server or when the game decides to crash. I'm running with an old graphics card so I have noticed that behaviour more often. However, If you are in a single player game. Make sure to look the doors and command tower forcefield. It keeps all unwanted guests away from you.

In a multiplayer game, you kind of have to keep an eye for transport ships and Star Fighters because other players will try to dock with your space station. If you haven't been neutralized by the game itself it has most likely been Investors. boots or a player.
