So while playing a game of EA1 we joked around with the idea of taking hostages and prisoners when the idea hit me. What if we made it so a executive had the option to take another executive as a prisoner and then they will take the now prisoner executive back to their base and throw him/her into a prison cell. Now to encourage people to take prisoners we can say once the enemy executive is your prisoner you get complete control of their company as well as their exutrons. But the exutrons are also deemed with the task to free their executive as well and if someone else frees the prisoner, the prisoner will regain control of their company while a portion of it goes to whoever frees them.

or you could hold his power plant hostage,because apparently if that dies, he dies. you know that's for EA1 also if you build the security room on the other side of the base and go there it doesn't matter if the power plant blows up or not as you'll be outside of the blast radius.

I think as long as it's made worthwhile to take them prisoner rather than just butcher them then it would be a good idea.

Alright this is a good idea. I like the risk-reward style of gameplay. How I see this going down, is that there is a menu that will have 3 options Bobcorp Robcorp Johncorp Kill CEO on sight X Take CEO captive X Disable CEO targeting X
The Kill CEO is the default and can be changed in this circumstance Bobcorp will be killed, Robcorp will be taken captive and Johncorp will not be targetted. (Maybe another menu that allows peace and war vs specific corps?) As a tech you can unlock tasers. It will take up the upgrade slot and can be used by the AI. At about 2m a bot will attempt to taze the CEO he will then be hauled back to the ship the bots were brought on. The ship must be moved back to your space station with a prison constructed (also a tech) the CEO will then be put into a cell and a chair where he will be "Hacked" Matrix w/ Morpheus style, You will then gain access to all the CEO's ships, bots, stations, etc... Now the new iron extractors will only produce 1/2 the regular materials. The other half will go back into the original owner's pool. Upon being tased the CEO will have to wait 30 seconds and then can come in as an executron. All the executrons will try to free the CEO. They can also talk with the other CEOs and try an organize a rescue. The person that rescues the CEO will get half of his resources and 1/4 of his bots and ships. All the ships and bots that were originally the CEOs are returned to him. The CEO must, as usual, return to his desk to regain command of his troops globally.

I think it would work better if the player was able to capture enemy units, which can then be transported to the base to gain the upper hand against the opposition. For example, the bots could be utilised for slave labour to increase the rate of production, or perhaps reprogrammed to work for you in battle. I suppose there could also be some form of information extraction implemented, allowing the player to gain stats (how much cash/units the enemy has, etc.) and insider info on the enemy base from the captured units.
Keeping an executive imprisoned, however, would be a bit OP in my opinion.
