Hi Rob, I was wondering if the power management would be similar to the first game or if there may be a whole different system for that, and if there will also be different special resources that you could mine off of asteroids to help with game progression (eg. Heskosium, Calcite, Thorium) or will there be a different system to replace that.

Hi, yes there's a power management system similar to the first game, but a lot more similar to understand and use. Currently you simply divert power to the necessary systems out of 100 points. So 20 to weapons, 60 to shields and 20 to research for example. Nothing more complicated than that. Although the station has 2 power modes, Battle mode and passive mode. This is so to stop you leaving the shields and the defence grid on all the time. If you are in battle mode, you cannot research or manufacture goods and vice versa. This is of course subject to change, but seems to work just fine at the moment

How does the power work in draws fortress? dwarf fortress is a fantasy game, there is not so much power management as so much just management, i can tell you that it's extremely complicated but awesome here is link to website: www.bay12games.com/dwarves/

I would like to see a percententage based power system however I still would like to see ways of increasing power. Not quite as dictatorial as thorium in EA1 but another way to gain more power than your opponent. Just not as complicated or as foretelling as EA1.
