I think some DLC might work if done correctly, like if he makes it so a DLC unlocks another research path.

I really don't want DLC yet because if you get another research path then you get an advantage over the other person maybe the sound track but for now I would prefer not to have DLC also because look how many games have gone down in flames because of DLC ex:Ark survival evolved

I'm a firm believer in once you have paid for a product then you should get everything that is currently done from day 1.
DLC is only really good once the game has been out for ages and the developer wants to add something extra like 5 more ships or 15 new tech etc to keep the game interesting.
