Persistent space stations?

Hi.

I am a little confused about how the final game will work. Will the station and company I build be persistent? E.g will the base I have built be the same across the multiplayer games I join? With me being able to upgrade and run my company and base over a long period of time. or will I have to start a new station and company from scratch like in executive assault 1 for every MP game I join.

I think it's the second but I can't be sure about that. But yea that is a good question.
