So I don't know if this is going to be in the game or not but perhaps to add some complexity and save on space you could add the ability to build multiple levels. This would also help cut back on running from one side of the base to all of the way to the other side. Also you can add cat walks and such in larger facilities to offer both sides more interesting combat zones or areas to sneak around on.

Unity recently updated their navigation system to allow for custom nav meshes, so this is indeed a possibility. But might be a bit tricky when it comes to looking down on multiple levels in RTS mode.

I see where you are going. Hmm But one solution might be if you were going to go down this rout is to break the station into a level system where you assign the - and + keys to go up and down viewing levels. Then if you want to see something through the floor you could click it and it will be high lighted while you check the upper and lower floors.
Please let me know what you think about this system as I myself am trying to get into game design as a side hobby and I have to say this isn't easy but I see why people do it.

That is indeed an option, would need testing as to make sure its not too complicated for people. If game design was easy then everyone would be doing it But if you are able to make your own games then the rewards are vast and you end up getting to play games that non of the big companies seem to be making these days.

Thanks for considering it.
Yea I know what you mean just the little bit I've done has been time consuming and tedious but I'm 70% there to pushing on wards. Granted if I could find a teacher I know I would give it 110% effort to learning how. But I realize you must be busy with your own projects, still I have to ask do you have any advice? Also one reason why I want to get into the industry is I feel like most game companies lost that magic of what makes a great game.

That would be cool to see, like in the movies where like take resident evil for example theres the huge base and OMAG.... Idea.
But back to this, to do that in RTS mode then wouldn't having the ability to rotate of adjust the camera work to, like if you hit the down button it makes the camera go down a level.
