Hey Rob, so as the games been pushed back to Q3, and since you said that beta testing will happen (I think, correct me if i'm wrong). I was wondering when we could see something like that, as I feel i'm not the only one itching to play the game. Thanks!

With beta testing I do have a few thoughts options. 1) I use Early Access like the last game, downside is that you get a lot of people thinking its a full release and not get much professional feedback. 2) I hire a professional company to do it, downside is that they are probably expensive. 3) Closed beta testing, downside is will need to vet the participants.
Any other suggestions are welcome.
I think the main thing that would benefit are balancing issues and multiplayer stress testing.

OK looking at this and what I can gather is A for balancing you'll need a large pool of players to draw from as no one person can have balancing down also add in the ability for players to play around with Unit/Weapon Values so people can try and figure out as well then propose it to you. Now for stress testing do I really need to say it you'll need another large crowd of people. So if I could make a suggestion just do one of those the game is free to play for 48 hours event that steam does from time to time then when the time is up the game locks back up. The only time I would suggest option 2 is A you are trying to keep your game under wraps and B are looking for more of the bugs that are harder to spot. Sides the other two options allow us to release more content to keep the community that is eagerly waiting to eat more of it in check and ready to buy the game if they like where things are going. Also I do believe a few people are kinda getting fet up with waiting around.

My personal suggestion to you would be to do some closed beta testing, then open up to Early Access. I personally don't think you need to hire a professional company as I agree with you that they would be expensive, and would they really do a better job then a bunch of people who are willing to do the same work for free? If you do the closed beta maybe have it be an application process or similar. Ask them questions about if they played EA1 etc. Determine if they are willing to actually help you find issues or bugs with the game. Personally I would say have them do mini reports, when they find an issue or bug have them screenshot it or record it, as well as the conditions that led up to it occurring, and then if they can provide suggestions let them. This stress testing, which is probably what would happen could deal with some of the major bugs or issues, and then once that is completed it can lead the way to either a full release, or early access depending on how you feel about the games condition. Obviously this wouldn't fix all the bugs, as I can personally attest to in EA1 me and my friends have and are still finding new glitches and bugs that can, significantly change the game. We even have a contract of sorts laying out rules of what glitches we are and are not allowed to utilize.
Hope I provided some food for thought.
