Ion Storm Tip: if your miners are caught in the storm, don't panic! , Don't spend ironite to rebuild either!.
Why?
We know you can't control in which to send them directly.. just only asteroids.
So it's not fair we loose mining ships due to it... But the balance is.. your docking bay automatically starts replacing the miners that were destroyed in the storm... Not costing you a thing...
But!!
If you start putting miners in que before the docking bay reacts to replace them, then you will loose ironite and the replacement is not free. --------------------------- Protect your docking bay!
Especially if you have not invested in getting one or capturing one.
Why?
Your miners die instantly when docking bay gets destroyed.... Just the ones that were built from the docking bay only. And if you have no outpost, then you really have to build your economy up, but if it's late game... Gg.
If you got an outpost, then you can survive.. just need a docking bay to get your cargo ships to fall back in line. ------------------ Tricks with troop transport
Dock a transport at every docking point on a station and outpost..
Why?
Enemy troop transport can't dock if nothing is available to dock to.. which gives you extra time to counter before they destroy the transport first.
Only way to loose the outpost now is if an enemy executrons personally flew a star fighter and docked it in a hanger. Or your docking bay.

Clarifying the docking bay. It's better to invest in a mining outpost or capturing some than to not do it at all.

- Putting research at 150% in your power settings can boost your early game very effectively.
- It's often worth building 2 extra mining ships to compliment your 2 free mining ships once your docking bay is complete.
- Don't neglect the Ore Refinement research. It drastically improves how much ore you get, if you build and activate the refineries.
- It's often wise to post troop details on your outposts, either by leaving an assault squad behind or docking with your own built outposts to move troops over. An outpost with no garrison is a big juicy gateway probe target.
- Your gateway probe is fast, free, re-spawns instantly, and can dock with stuff. It should be used liberally for early-game scouting and quick nabbing of derelict stations. Don't leave your pod sitting at home with unexplored systems around you!
- Remember your Executrons have to run around your base. Be a pal and keep your Executron Facility, Robot Facility and Gateway Facility within easy-to-reach distance of each other.
- Playing as an Executron? Be a pal and don't queue up a million robots or Starfighters. At best you'll piss off your CEO, at worst you'll lose the game.
- As an Executron, make sure to update your weapons and shields when applicable at the stations across from your spawn point.
- As an Executron, you can access the system screen via the holo-fields across the hallway from your spawn point.
- As an Executron, you have three major priorities: Kill enemy gateway probes, assist in boarding actions, and repair station sections (can only be done in-person at the section console, dark until you walk up to it, marked with an orange light). Keep these three goals in mind before gallivanting off on your own adventure.

thehaney Nice list! Didn't realize the gate probe scouting trick! One thing I would add to the executron priority list: - Personal bodyguard to the CEO while your base is being boarded. Enemy robots often run right by defenders, leaving you to be the last "actually thinking" line of defense between attackers and your faction losing the game. One thing I would add to the general executron discussion: you are able to shoot further and aim better than most enemies can target, making you a fearsome ground and space combatant. You will be able to hold off more numerous or higher tech foes than you would think if you play cleverly.
