As the title of the thread states, I would just like a moment to appreciate the music in this game. The scale of it is one of the most intense scores I've heard when playing an RTS, and I just love it. It adds an extra layer of awesomness when doing battle and micro-managing between researches, unit construction, and unit control. Not to mention the slower pieces of music that add a very nice aesthetic for when you decide to look out of the window towards the sun as you gaze upon your fleet heading off.
I was recently trying to get pieces of footage for a thing earlier, and I just couldn't help but notice how much easier the music made for me to record something while sitting perfectly still and holding down right-click for 6-10 mins. It added such a nice atmosphere to it all whilst adding quite a bit of character to the overall game. I also greatly appreciate the orchestral take of it, especially considering this game is pretty much completely based on robots and technology: a very easy premise to make techno-based music for. So, thank you for allowing me to hear a grand, sweeping, and roaring score to accompany my quest to be a monopoly in space!
The artistic direction with the bloom, reflections, overall style and whatnot certainly don't hurt either. Shoot, there are some shots during my time in the game where I sit back and think "man, this is a really good-looking game". I don't get too often when playing an RPG where I just sit back and just look at an environment to take it all in, yet here I am doing it almost regularly while playing a FPS/RTS.
But yeah, just wanted to make this thread here to say: amazing job, Hesketh Studios! Not only were you able to create a gameplay experience that I've been yearning for a decade to be created (though you did that with the last game as well, but I digress), but you've also managed to make it look and sound great as well! All with a team as small as you can get!
Hats off to ye!
